Despite checkered early years, George Raft ascended to the height of movie stardom during the Golden Age of Hollywood and was delighted to set his imprint in the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on March 25, 1940. He was the 44th of 200 Hollywood celebrities to be so honored following the ceremony’s inception in 1927.
